Noni Rather HUGE Carpet Bag: I started this back in the middle of April. Honestly I have just gotten too bored with it. It is too large for the mindless take in the bag/car knitting and I don't have the handle yet so it has hung out in the corner for about a month. I have 4 more "stripes" then gotta felt...I actually did 4 rows of her after I brought her out for the picture. Here are a couple: ![]() ![]() So yes I NEED to finish that one before we leave the rental because our new house will have a front loader...but alas I MUST find that pillowcase AGAIN! Lace Edge Jacket from Spring '06 VK ![]() I am doing this in Rowan Cotton Tape because I could NOT find the Gedifra anywhere. Have since found out that a yarn shop 5 minutes from my mom's house has it, but I digress...So far I have all the pieces done. I have to block them (waiting on duct tape to finish my made at home blocking board - told DH to get the BIG roll!) I started my first adventures with crochet that is not wire and beads. So far this is what I have. My sample swatch - totally did the crochet wrong, but I learned! ![]() and here is the sleeve where I have done the edging. I purchased a wood crochet hook last week...and that is a story, but I gotta say, not feeling the wood for crochet. I totally miss my metal hook. I think I will be going to going to Michael's this week to pick up a new hook because this one totally blows. but here is my edging: ![]() note that it has NOT been blocked yet. So what do you guys think of the colors? The edging is Louisa Harding Flotsom and Rowan Holiday. I have to say Holiday is some of the most unusual yarn I have seen. I am already designing a funky pullover with lace in that on size 15 needles...oh the DRAMA! From my Amazing Lace adventure Ihave the Bonita Shirt whom I affectionately call miss french vanilla. Now this shirt is showing to be a real showcase for how much I have improved the stitches from the bottom to the top are getting better on each row. I have thought about frogging her but alas it is just too much work. I am about 40% thru. ![]() My first try at lace...well almost My first try at lace was the sleeve ends of this pretty the strakers shrug from the IK Spring '06 now I love this shrug it is done in Manos Caribe. Issue...it is a touch tight so I cannot bear to seem it up again. I have ripped out the seaming once. Thought I would reblock it because it does fit and is just a SMIDGE tight. I have since seen that there was an errata that would of added a whole FOUR ROWS which in my case would of made a difference considerable...but alas I am having a hard time and she has been sitting in the courner on the edge of the chair for about 4 weeks. ![]() She is sitting next to the new peace fleece that I just got. AMAZING colors. I cannot wait to knit with it and see how it knits up. I also hear it felts nice so I MUST try that as well... Last and not least I will leave you with Miss Carolina Rowan. I love her so much here in StacyLand. I have such high hopes for this pretty. You may have seen me talk about her earlier. ![]() aahhh Right now I am 1/2 way thru the back thanks to my glorious friend and favorite enabler knittywhipped You see lovely Christine allowed me to borrow her Holz&Stein needles. Talk about love! Mine were not cutting it for this project and she so graciously lent me her pair. I can never be grateful enough. I mean how freaking bitchen' is that (oh my is it 1983)? Well right now I am 85 rows up or so if you look you can see the yarn hanging off the side where it broke. ![]() Sorry about the fuzz. The two markers at the side are on row 38 I have to go up 90 rows then mark again then do another 38 before I do a bunch of ktogs...so as you can see....I got quite a ways to go!!!! Well that is all I will bore you with tonight. I do have some secret WIP that I have in the works. Some designs that I am making up and having fun with like the Rowan above and some other mohair one...I am definitely becoming a mohair freak...so on that note. good night. |
